All GP Races Series sails are designed by the Ullman Sails Advanced Design Team and built at our state-of-the-art lamination plant. Through a high-pressure, high-heat lamination process we have developed a stronger and more durable laminate than other membranes on the market. • FiberPath GP Race: Every FiberPath Series sail is custom-designed and lightweight. Our designers lay out the path of the fibers to perfectly align with the expected loads of the sail, accounting for differences in fiber characteristics such as stretch and durability. Due to the exceptional loadmanagement characteristics of the FiberPath Series, these sails have the greatest shapeholding abilities available. These features combine to make the sails the fastest on the water.
• FiberPath Phantom Series: The Phantom Series is the newest innovation from Ullman Sails. Taking the already successful framework of the FiberPath Series, we added features to make the product even better. Using a smoother, more flexible, matte finish we are able to produce a sail that is not only easier to handle, but also reduces glare to provide an enhanced trimming experience. The custom dark grey color of the sail’s adhesive not only looks stunning, but also offers added UV protection, meaning your sail will last even longer.
The Ullman Sails Advanced Design Team, headed by Ullman Sails President and four-time World Champion David Ullman, has experience designing and testing for a range of successful projects including Olympic campaigns; the America’s Cup; various One Design classes; and rating rules. Using SMAR Azure® 3-D design software, computer analytics and two-boat testing, Ullman Sails is able to optimize every sail shape for outstanding, long-term performance.
